Previously gained skills develop further. Now your child can stand on one foot for 10 seconds or longer. He could hop previously also. But he may take it one step further and skip a short distance. He can do a somersault on his bed. Just be with him while he tries this. He can hurt himself. He could use simple utensils meaningfully. Now he has become much more competent. He can handle the spoon well. He does not spill food while using the spoon. He can mix food with his hand now. Initially he mixed food with his whole hand. Now his technique is much more refined.
He is concerned about his hygiene and he can use a toilet on his own now.
His numerical awareness has now improved. He can count to 10. He is aware of his body, its parts and he draws a man with at least 6 body parts clearly depicted. He can write a few letters and numbers now, and he writes them everywhere. His spatial awareness is good and he copies a triangle. His social interaction has taught him about everyday things like clothes, food, money and furniture. He speaks very clearly now with good pronunciation. There may be a few mispronunciations here and there. He can tell simple stories with simple sentences. He is aware of time and applies it is when he speaks. For example, “dad will come home tomorrow”. He can now tell his full name and the home address. His social interactions have evolved to a state where he wants to impress his friends and make relationships stronger.
